The 2020-21 school supply list is available. This list is for the students/families that have chosen to participate in the HYBRID MODEL for school reopening. If you have chosen distance learning, we do not yet have any information on supplies that may or may not be needed.

Math and Reading Family Videos
FCPS has created a set of videos to help families assist their elementary children with practicing skills while at home. These short videos focus on math and reading concepts for students at a variety of grade levels. They are not a replacement for the learning provided by classroom teachers, but are meant to enhance or review skills children and families can practice together.

Meeting Notice
School Board Meeting to Stream Live
On Tuesday, December 1, the Frederick County School Board will meet at 6:00 p.m. (Closed Session) / 7:00 p.m. (Public Session) at the FCPS Administration Building. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Frederick County Public Schools' commitment to adhering to current public health and safety recommendations such as the 25 person limit for in-person gatherings, a limited number of citizens will be able to attend the meeting in person. Those who want to attend the meeting must register. The meeting will also be made accessible via a live video stream on the FCPS YouTube Channel. Citizen/staff comments will be provided to School Board members at the meeting. The deadline to submit comments is Tuesday, December 1 at 3:00 p.m.

National Merit Scholarship Program
National Merit Scholarship Recognitions
James Wood High School student Benjamin Appling has been named a semifinalist in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Competition. Frederick County Public Schools is also home to eight other students who have been named National Merit Scholarship Competition Commended Scholars.

FCPS greater than VA
On-Time Graduation Rate
Frederick County Public Schools’ on-time graduation rate for the Class of 2020 was 93 percent compared to Virginia’s rate of 92.3 percent. In addition to exceeding the state’s on-time graduation rate, the school division’s 4.3 percent dropout rate for the Class of 2020 was lower than the state’s rate of 5.1 percent.
